Series 3, Episode 2: "The B's Knees"

According to this website, "Bees carry pollen back to the hive in sacs on their legs.  It is tempting to explain [the phrase, "the bee's knees"] as alluding to the concentrated goodness to be found around a bee's knee, but there's no evidence to support this explanation."

What's more, I've even heard it asserted in my day that bees don't even have knees, but the picture to my left would suggest otherwise.

But are said matters either here or there?  Maybe.  Because tonight on Rock Show, Chris and Mike shall return to The Hive Lab @ KRU with all sorts of "concentrated goodness" in the form of some of rock's greatest B-sides.

What's a B-side (or, for that matter, an A-side), you may ask.  According to Wikipedia:
A-side and B-side originally referred to the two sides of gramophone records on which singles were released beginning in the 1950s. The terms have come to refer to the types of song conventionally placed on each side of the record, with the A-side being the featured song (the one that the record producer hopes will receive radio airplay and become a "hit"), while the B-side, or flipside, is a secondary song that often does not appear on the artist's LP.
For a taste of this honey, tune into The Lab tonight at 7PM!

  1. The secondary theme of tonight's show is Returning Bottles and Cans for the Deposit, which I'll be doing afterwards when I haul two big boxes of empty drink receptacles to the HyVee redemption center.

  2. Would any song off the Prince The Hits/The B-Sides be eligible, or are we limited to the third disc?

  3. Alas, we're currently locked out of The Lab, but the station manager is on his way to let us in. Stay tuned for special delayed presentation of Rock Show...

  5. So, we know these songs are all the "B's Knees," but are they also the Cat's Pajamas?

  6. Now, I don't want to hear our listeners calling people stupid, like the Rolling Stones are right now. Do you like it when people call YOU stupid?

  7. Oh man too silly in this week's episode of Rock Show. We need to close the Zany valve a little bit and crank open the Rock spigot.
