The "1950-1969" Episode (4/22/2011) Is On The Air!

Following 2 wild weeks of loosening the standard Rock Show policies—typified by Mike's moment of Oasis indulgence, not to mention a glaring absence of catch phrases and sound effects —this week we'll be getting back to basics with a one-hour celebration of good old 50s and 60s rock.  Any requests?

"Woo-o-o-ooh, scrambled eggs!"

  1. I request that all requests have something earthy in their names/lyrics since the show will be on Earth Day. Like "Crimson and Clover," for example.

  2. I listened to about 15 minutes of Pepperjack and Bearclaw last week in the hopes one of them would claim a name, but they didn't. I'm worried they're trying to be like Hootie and the Blowfish (where no one was actually Hootie).

  3. Paul, that's my big concern, too -- that neither of them are actually PJ or BC. After all, the show is called The PJ & BC Hour, and not The Hour with PJ & BC. Oh, the mystery of it all!

  4. This mystery has driven their status way up in the Lab pantheon. I am sure next semester they will be off to KRUI proper and leave us in the dust.

  5. Sir Axe: wouldn't you know I just returned a Ray Charles box set -- with that song -- to the library. It's still "checked in" as of this morning, so I'll try to snag it before the show.

That said, word on the street is that PJ and BC may go w/ a Jamie Foxx theme tonight, so they could beat me to it...

  6. Um..Axe...did you not read my request? Or do you hate the Earth?

  7. It's Good Friday as well so Mess Around fits with that, right?

  8. Pete's back. This is awesome (or not)

  9. Wait, so what's the name of this show?

  10. Pete seems to know the name by I didn't catch it. I heard PJ@BC have a kid on this week as well. Watch out, Pete

  11. Pete provides nice background entertainment.

  12. Ann says go for it. Call it the Bees Knees

  13. That's right, "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens was originally a B-side (the A-side was "Donna")...

  14. It's an invigorating episode of Rock Show! Pete is amping up the energy level in the studio. He is literally running laps right now!

  15. Chris and Pete have temporarily stepped out of The Lab to (a) feed the meter, and (b) hit up the boy's room, but should be back by the time the "War, What Is It Good For" block concludes...

  16. Well, this appears to be the bright and happy part of the show

  17. Yes, Captain Planet. Do that.

  18. I was out taking Ace to the little boys room much like the Lakes

  19. Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!

  20. I wish there was a band that combined many of these elements?

  21. Don't be absurd, Axe. That would be impossible, to, say, combine 3 of them.

  22. Seamless transition to the real show, PJ&BC

  23. OMG! I just heard it! They just came back from a song, and the guy said "Hey Pepperjack, did you know that...?" And the girl responded!

  24. I am very excited that you figured that out! When they came into the studio, we introduced them to Pete as "Pepperjack and Bearclaw" and they didn't take it upon themselves to clarify... and he didn't ask. I think he was more keen to show off to them how handily he was beating up on Mike.
