I made this in Microsoft Paint at work in five minutes.
This Friday we're playing British love songs to celebrate the marriage of this well-to-do daughter of successful entrepreneurs to this ward of the state. I'm not sure what he does for a living. I think he was in the army for a while - or maybe that was jail. Anyway, we're very disappointed in her.
All that aside: Come and join us to celebrate LOVE! Rock Show Style!
How dare you insult Prince William! As a long time PBS Anglophile I have had a crush on him since I was ten. You are lucky I settled for you, Mr. Lake.
ReplyDeleteI request that love song from Venus and Mars.
The sort of old-time music hall style number?
ReplyDelete"Granny music", I think it is called.
ReplyDeleteWell - I think a little 'Jackson' by Mr. Cash would be appropriate. Actually - it's the only song I can think of right now that mentions marriage in any way.

ReplyDeleteI am requesting "To Bring You My Love" PJ Harvey and/or "She Cries Your Name" Beth Orton
ReplyDelete6:15 and still no comments. Obviously, the Rock Show audience got up a wee bit earlier than normal for a Friday to watch a certain once-in-a-lifetime matrimonial extravaganza. Nap well, dear listeners -- being awake this morning was more important than being awake now ;)
ReplyDeleteAnn, Paul, Grant and I are listening here together but won't be commenting much as we are engrossed in conversation and such.
ReplyDeleteThe Alton fans are listening. We just tuned in a little late!
ReplyDeleteA Rock Show party? Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteTWO Rock Show parties -- one in Iowa City and one in Alton? Double wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe nephews are requesting Crocodile Rock. That would be related because of Elton John right!?
ReplyDeleteJohn and Luke are all about the swords and fancy hats!
ReplyDeleteYou wanted it? You got it! It's Crocodile Rock!
ReplyDeleteThe Alton fans are freaking out!! John says that the DJs rock!
ReplyDeleteJohn and Luke told me they want you to honor Axe's request.
ReplyDeletecute.
ReplyDeletekozmo & I also enjoyed that song.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it would help if Grant made a request!!
ReplyDeleteSo here's what we know: there's going to be an "in studio" in The Lab beginning at 7PM sharp (and perhaps earlier). We're not sure if this "in studio" will feature a band playing live, an interview with a Duchess, or something else altogether, but regardless we may get kicked out early...
ReplyDeleteIt's on. PJ&BC are doing a 70's themed show. Guess what block they are currently doing: Space!!! I kid you not. Space Oddity is playing right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually not home to listen to PJ&BC. When I heard they were doing a 70's show tonight I was pretty psyched. It's 7:47 and I managed to tune in just now to hear "Satellite of Love". Nice!
